Family Promise of Atlantic County held its first gala on April 16, at Frog Rock Inn and Golf Club, Hammonton, NJ. The Hope for Tomorrow gala featured Karen Olson, founder of Family Promise. Family Promise is a national interfaith nonprofit organization which was started in Union County, NJ. Family Promise has 199 affiliates in 43 states and has served over 600,000 individuals in need by mobilizing more than 160,000 volunteers in 6,000 congregations who provide shelter, meals and support services to families. The mission of Family Promise is to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. Opening this summer, Family Promise of Atlantic County will be the 19th such affiliate in the state of NJ.
